Hi, To, Mu, Ra, consists of square frames and commas taken from Japanese writing regulation. Blank frames are used as the guide for one character.

Each sequence of the frame is assigned a Japanese name of a plant which has naturalized to Japan. All the names of these plants recognized in 2015 are converted as blank frames and enumerated in vertical writing. The work examines meaning of boundary from the plant’s points of view. To celebrate their fluidity, Yamada eliminated their names and left only the frames.
