An S.O.S message in Morse code is transmitted by covering a flashlight with the hands. Each time the light is blocked, the back of the hand glows red in the darkness—the color of the blood flowing through the body that sends the signal.
Occasionally, the sound of an emergency whistle calling to one another. Those who have never heard it before say it sounds like a deer calling in the distance.
